Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant is known to be one of the greatest players in the NBA, with his well-documented winner mindset and all about the work.
Kobe was ruthless to Pau Gasol in the 2008 Olympics; after the "Black Mambawanted" was leading the “redeem team" and " to win everything, he didn't care to put at risk his friendship with the Spanish player.
Kobe and Pau were so close that they were like brothers, being Lakers' teammates, but it didn't matter once they were rivals in the game. A new Netflix documentary that will premiere soon tells the story of the U.S. Men basketball, the "redeem team," and how they won the gold medal.
After Pau told his side of this event, then Kobe "attacked" him in the first gameplay, and their relationship was done. At least for a couple of hours, once everything finished, Pau knew that was how Kobe played, and no hard feelings were anymore, as it was nothing personal and Gasol knew that's how Bryant did things, and it worked.
Los Angeles Lakers legend is so unique that one time, after being retired, he went to talk with the NFL New England Patriots, where he gave pointers on how he became one of the greatest and all about putting the work and his "Mamba mentality." He impressed former Patriots WR Julian Edelman.
