There's no denying that this has been the breakout season for Austin Reaves, who was able, in his second year with the Lakers and the league, to showcase his talent and become a young promise.
Reaves was undrafted, but the Lakers scouts saw something special about him, and the front office signed him; two years later, he is playing his first playoffs and is earning praise from the fans and even some NBA players.
The Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant, one of the league's greatest players of the moment, recognized what Austin Reaves is doing by reacting to a layup to LeBron James on Wednesday, Game 5 at Memphis vs. the Grizzlies.
KD wrote on his Twitter: "What a pass by Reaves****," Which shows how far Austin Reaves has been able to go, to get this kind of acknowledgment from a great player besides his teammates.
Reaves is confident about closing the series at home. "Still really high. I mean, it's the playoffs, and they're the No. 2 seed in the West for a reason. They're really good; we didn't come in thinking it was going to be a cakewalk. We knew it was gonna be a battle, but like you said, we're going back to our house, and we'll compete to win there."
