Los Angeles Lakers had their debut game this summer with their Summer League roster, where the new rookies had their opportunity to shine, but some were disappointed in their first performance.

The Lakers had their first game of the Summer Classics this Monday, where they faced the Miami Heat and their new rookie Jaime Jáquez Jr., the No. 18 Draft pick of the latest edition.

The purple and gold fans were excited to see what seemed to be a solid young roster for the Lakers with the two new draft picks, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis. Also, the new two undrafted players the Lakers just signed with a two-way contract, the center Colin Castleton and the SG D'Moi Hodge.

The new rookies joined the now sophomores Max Christie, Cole Swider, Scotty Pippen Jr., and other players. But as a whole, the team failed to deliver, as they were supposed to be great shooters, except for JHS, but the team shot poorly and was defeated 107-90 by the Heat.

The Lakers may have chosen the wrong draft pick like the Heat exposed them

The Lakers had the No. 17 pick of the 2023 NBA Draft and went with Jalen Hood-Schifino, an odd choice that surprised everyone; then, at the No. 18, the Miami Heat chose the rookie Jaque Vazques Jr., who yesterday got his debut and was the best player of the game, showing the mistake of the Lakers of passing on him and choosing Hood-Schifino instead.
