Every Lakers fan dream is closer to happening with the most recent developments in the NBA, as it has been reported that Kyrie Irving has requested to be tradedThiskinds.
This has created all kinds of reactions, including a LeBron James one who posted on Twitter a crown and some suspicious eyes, to which Assistant Coach Phil Handy answered by posting the same emoji eyes.
Magic Johnson also posted, "interested personally, I'd love to see Kyrie in the purple and gold," and he is not alone in that sentiment.
Everything seems to be set for GM Rob Pelinka to do his magic and get a trade done, which won't be easy as the Lakers won't be the only team interested in signing the superstar.
What led to Kyrie Irving's decision
"They've had contract extension negotiations. Charania said that a contract extension was offered to Irving with some stipulations in it," Charania said. "I'm told that his side was vehemently against any stipulations in an extension. He believes that he deserves a fully-guaranteed contract. He feels like a player of his caliber should not have stipulations in that deal. There's a principle difference between Irving and the Nets. Whatever his principles are, whatever the Nets' principles are, they do not align."
