The Los Angeles Lakers had a great start of free agency in the first two days by checking most of their boxes in what they were looking to accomplish in the offseason, including re-signing some of their top priorities, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and D'Angelo Russell.
Still, the team is looking to add another center to the roster and fill 14 spots on the team and leave one available in case they need another player once the regular season has started.
Pelinka and Ham let go of Mo Bamba, but he is still in the mix to return, but the name that is on top of the list is Christian Wood, but the Lakers will try to sign him for the vet minimum.
But Wood could want to accept that, as the Lakers will be the perfect team to showcase his performances and grow his value to sign a better salary with LA or another team, just like Dennis Schröder did. Schröder signed for a year 2 million deal, and after his performances, he signed with the Toronto Raptors a two-year contract for 26 million, a significant pay upgrade from LA.
The team was disappointed after yesterday's Lakers Summer League team debuted in the Summer Classics game vs. Miami Heat. Still, a player that didn't disappoint was the young center, Cole Castleton. They had mistakes but he is a 19-year-old player that is still a work in process with a lot of space to improve his game.
