The Los Angeles Lakers are "actively" pursuing a new center for their 14th roster spot, as the GM Rob Pelinka stated himself, and first, a couple of names were revealed as the top choices, Bismack Biyombo and Christian Wood.
But a recent report by ESPN's Dave McMenamin doesn't have the name of Biyombo at all but has narrowed the list to three top choices the Lakers front office is thinking of choosing from.
McMenamin mentions the Lakers want a stretch 5 with the final spot and mentions Wood, JaMychal Green, and Markieff Morris as the main possible targets.
This latest report has confused the Lakers fans as Mo Bamba was right there for the taking if the team wanted a stretch five this entire time. Also, Bamba needed to have the necessary opportunities to show himself.
One of the reasons the Lakers fan thinks Pelinka still needs to sign a center from the free agency market is that he and Ham are considering giving that spot with a standard contract to the undrafted rookie Colin Castleton, who has been outstanding in the Summer League.
