One of the players that became coach Ham's favorites for the season was Dennis Schroder, even when he lost his spot in the starting lineup and had more of a bench role.

In reality, Schroder helped the team and gave his best in any role he needed. For him, it was a time to redeem himself after having a first stint with the team when he supposedly left the team by rejecting an 80 million offer.

A year later, he returned for the vet minimum. Now that he had a successful second stint with the team, helping in critical times and becoming one of the key elements in Ham's strategy, he is set to be re-signed as he will be hitting free agency.

His value could increase double and be signed by the Lakers for four million for the next campaign even when an official offer hasn't been made. Still, with Ham and Pelinka wanting to upgrade from D'Angelo Russell, Schroder could be a cheap and safe bet for the next campaign.

Coach Ham speaks highly of Dennis Schroder

"We know how he plays, especially in big moments. He plays the biggest. He's not afraid of the moment," LA head coach Darvin Ham raved, per Turner. "We know if he's fouled, the play needs to be made. If it's an open corner three, going downhill, attacking the rim, getting fouled, and stepping up to the line and hitting free throws, he's going to do all that, as well as guard. That's exactly why he's on our ballclub." Said Ham during the postseason about Schroder.
