ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has sent a loud and clear message to the Lakers star Anthony Davis, is time for him to carry the weight of the team. LeBron has been doing it for the last four years, now is the turn for AD to do it, but his injury record has prevented him from doing it.

A lot has been said about Anthony Davis, who is one of the best players in the NBA and probably the best defensive player of this era, when healthy. Not only the star hasn't been able to stay out of injuries, he has also been inconsistent.

For ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, AD's inconsistency is a problem, he dislikes Davis scoring one game 40 points only to score around 11 points the next one and not be a game changer.

Smith believes Anthony Davis should carry the Lakers and not the 38-year-old LeBron James "Anthony Davis is damn near a decade younger. It's his time to carry the load."

Many believe Anthony Davis is not an Alpha player

The main problem that AD seems to be facing, is that he hasn't shown to be capable of taking the lead role, unlike LeBron James who at 38 still has been putting the team on his back and carrying them on several occasions, he can not continue with that effort, it's time for Davis to do it, especially after signing a three year and 186 million extension.
