The Lakers continue pursuing an upgrade from D'Angelo Russell this offseason, and a new name that is getting closer to LA has been revealed

The Los Angeles Lakers ended their season feeling disappointed with the performances of D'Angelo Russell in the playoffs, especially after the PG was great in the regular season and played an essential part in turning around the season for the team and making it into the postseason.

Russell has his second stint with the team, and after playing the WCF, he called it a "successful second stint," but it could soon end as the front office led by GM Rob Pelinka and coach Ham are actively looking to upgrade the PG position.

Different names have been rumored, including Kyrie Irving, Trae Young, Fred VanVleet, James Harden, and more, but now the newest information by the Clutchpoints website has a new name to look for that the purple and gold could be signing soon.

Derrick Rose is leaving the NY Knicks, and one of the main teams to be interested in signing the PG is the LA Lakers. Other teams interested are the Boston Celtics, the Phoenix Suns, and the Chicago Bulls.

The Lakers have Reaves & Hachimura as their top priorities

Not D'Angelo Russell, but the Lakers are looking to re-sign as soon as they can, two of their best players in the past postseason, the SG starter Austin Reaves and the coming-off-the-bench Japanese wing Rui Hachimura. To bring them back, they will match any offer both players receive as free agents this summer.
