Anthony Davis is set to be the face of the Lakers this season and in upcoming years, as LeBron James continues to be on the team, but at 38 years old is not expected to carry the team anymore.
Still, AD hasn't been able to make a case for the Lakers organization betting on him to carry the franchise, between his subpar performances being inconsistent and prone-injury.
ESPN's Kendrick Perkins went savage on the Lakers superstar with a reality check on how the Sacramento Kings star Sabonis has been superior in their las eight encounters.
"[Domantas] Sabonis bust [Anthony Davis'] a*s yesterday [in the Kings' win vs. the Lakers] and he's been doing that in the last 8 games... Show some damn pride, bro."Said Kendrick Perkins.
The Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves believes that the team hasn't helped Anthony Davis enough and needs to do better. "I think everybody else around AD can do more to help AD,” Reaves said. “Not that he necessarily needs it, but just to make his life a little bit easier. I feel like sometimes he finds himself having to go against that defense. If we just move a little more for him, and create a little bit of confusion on the defense then it would make his life a little easier, not that he needs it 95% of the time. But like I said, I’ll have to go back and watch the game and see what we could’ve done better to help him.”
