The most anticipated moment for the LA Lakers fans is finally here, a new NBA season starts, and with it, the hopes are high for a team that saw a drama-free offseason, well planned and a strong roster that promises to win it all.
Sadly, not everything is good news as two players will be out for the highly anticipated rematch against the Denver Nuggets. The wing Jarred Vanderbilt continues to be out because of his heel injury.
For the rookie Jalen Hood Schifino, the news is worse as he is not only out for the season opener but apparently will be out for at least one more week.
The Athletic's Jovan Buha has reported: "The Lakers say Jarred Vanderbilt and Jalen Hood-Schifino are both out in Denver. The Lakers add Hood-Schifino will be re-evaluated by team doctors on Nov. 3."
After the Lakers got swept in the Western Conference Finals to Denver in the 2023 playoffs, the team is looking stronger after training camp with the preseason and the main core back from last year plus new reinforcements that already have shown they are the right fit for the team. Fans believe the team will start the season with a victory over the NBA champions the Denver Nuggets.
