By James Brown
LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the greatest players of all time, and even for some, he is the greatest, including Michael Jordan. That's why when James announced that he wasn't retiring yet at the ESPY Awards when he won the best record-breaking performance accolade, the NBA world became immediately excited.
But days later, LeBron did the same by announcing that he isn't wearing the No. 6 on his purple and gold jersey anymore, out of respect and in honor of the late great Bill Russell, the NBA legend that sadly passed away last year.
Instead, James will return to use his signature No. 23, which Jordan made famous and LeBron has given a new meaning. There's no doubt that now, the No. 23 in the NBA means greatness after what LeBron and Jordan have done with that jersey number.
But the reason why the NBA is trembling and especially Stephen Curry, is because LeBron could be winning a new championship title to get ahead of the Warriors star, as the last time James won a title was precisely wearing the No. 23 on his purple and gold jersey.
After LeBron's ESPY epic announcement, Austin Reaves shared a picture on his IG story of him at a Lakers practice with LeBron James. Lebron shared it again and wrote, "soon brother," showing both players love to play alongside each other and can't wait for the next season to start.
