Like every year, the website Forbes.com has released the list of the highest-paid players in 2023. Without any surprise and repeating like last year, LeBron James is the number one.
LeBron James is set to earn this year about 117.6 million total, by having a 47.6 million salary with the LA Lakers and staying as the highest-paid player despite the Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry having a salary of 51.9 million.
But the total goes for the on-court and off-court earnings, meaning that LeBron James' earnings off-court thanks to his investments and endorsement deals make him more money than what he receives from playing basketball in LA. James' off-court earnings this year are around the 70M. James became a billionaire last year.
On the second place is Steph Curry who earns 51.9 million from his salary with the Warriors and off-court around 50 million. Both starts are followed by Kevin Durant with 91.4 million in total earnings, Giannis at fourth place making a total of 85.6 million this year, and the top five ends with Damian Lillard and a total of $62.6 million.
LeBron James has been contending for the highest-paid athlete in the world title with soccer superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi for quite some time now.
