The Los Angeles Lakers had a press conference with GM Rob Pelinka and head coach Darvin Ham ahead of Monday's Media Day and the purple and gold's training camp.
One of the main takeaways from the conference press was the fact that Rui Hachimura has not only been working out all the offseason with coach Phil Handy but has become in LeBron's words according to coach Darvin Ham his "understudy."
Rob Pelinka said: "Watching Rui come here after the trade felt like a personal renaissance for him. He came alive as a player again... He spent most of his time training with LeBron (this offseason), that was intentional."
Rui Hachimura reacted by retweeting the post with some emojis in sign of appreciation and be ready, also tagging the Lakers star LeBron James. James has now reacted funnily as he has shared Rui's reaction and added a gif with a famous scene from the movie Karate Kid when Miyagi is teaching Daniel-San a move, referring to how Rui is now his "pupil." This reaction is hilarious but at the same time shows how locked the team is entering training camp.
According to The Athletic's Jovan Buha: “[Anthony Davis] is in the best shape he’s been in entering a Lakers training camp and is shooting the ball similar to his earlier levels.”
