Being one of the greatest players in the NBA sometimes brings a big responsibility, and now LeBron will be one of the last to wear the No. 6 on his jersey after it has been retired for good.

After the passing of the legendary NBA player Bill Russell, the league decided to retire the number for the first time. But the current players that wear that number on their jersey will continue to do so until they retire. Then, the NBA won't be printing that number anymore.

LeBron has some thoughts about the NBA icon: "It was always a treat seeing him at games, having an opportunity to win championships, see him up on the panel and give me the Bill Russell Award was one of the most delightful moments of my career."

The Lakers player will start his 20th year in the league and continue extending the legacy of the number six on the game. LeBron will be contending with the Lakers to win his fifth individual championship and the franchise 18th.

All the Lakers players will be wearing a No. 6 patch

As part of the hommage, all franchises in the NBA will have to honor Bill Russell; the Lakers will wear a No. 6 patch on their jerseys throughout the season. Bill Russell is often considered one of the greatest players in the history of the sport and one of the most influential.
