With 13 players in the roster locked for the next season, with Mo Bamba, Malik Beasley, Troy Brown Jr., and Dennis Schröder no longer being part of the team, Lonnie Walker could be the fifth player to leave.
The Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has made different movements and signed players that now have the roster with 13 out of the 15 spots filled. Still, it has been stated that they are only looking to start the season with 14 to leave a space for a future pick, but they are looking for another center.
This leaves the SG Lonnie Walker out of the equation; the free agent could be signing with another team that guarantees him more playing minutes, as coach Ham didn't use him enough in the last season.
Walker IV became a critical player in the series vs. the Golden State Warriors in the 2022-23 Western Conference Semifinals, especially in Game 4, where the team was losing, and his 3-point shots helped the team to turn things around. Lonnie is about to leave with the latest Pelinka strategy for the team.
With Brook Lopez now being out of the table, LA has lost their two main options, as Naz Reid signed with his team, the Timberwolves. Still, the Lakers are looking for another center in the free agency market.
