The Lakers have one more move pending this free agency, a size center; Mo Bamba could come back unless a 14M player prevents it

The Los Angeles Lakers have locked 13 players in their roster for the next season, plus the three two-way rookies and a sophomore; still, reports have the front office, led by GM Rob Pelinka, pursuing a size center to close the free agency market for LA with 14 players to start with that number the regular season.

With Brook Lopez no longer available for the Lakers to pursue, the market for a good center is starting to dry with few good options; that's why Pelinka is considering signing back Bamba with the vet minimum.

But Christian Wood, the free agent center, the best available size player, could get the edge over Bamba. Wood could be earning around 14 million if the Purple and Gold decide to sign him.

Bamba could be the right choice to give another shot; after all, he didn't have enough opportunities and time to prove his worth with the team, but he is looking to get back on track with LA.

Pelinka signed Jaxson Hayes to have a similar role to Dwight Howard in 2020

The Lakers won the 2020 championship title, and the size center Howard had a lot of input in helping the team to accomplish it. Still, with the vet playing in Taiwan, Pelinka has signed the big young center Jaxson Hayes, who has similar skills and wants the young player to have a similar role to Dwight's one with the team in the bubble.
