The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to compete for a new NBA championship title, the reason why GM Rob Pelinka has been busy building the team's roster and a new trade idea from Fadeaway World has the Lakers and Spurs doing some business.

The trade proposal from Lee Tran of Fadeaway World has the Lakers trading D'Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Maxwell Lewis. “The main thing that the San Antonio Spurs have to do is build around Victor Wembanyama,” Tran wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “For big men, the key to helping them be successful is finding a point guard who can find that player for easy looks. Right now, the Spurs only have Devonte Graham on the roster, and he is known more for being a 3PT shooter rather than a playmaker. Perhaps making a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for D’Angelo Russell is the right move.”

In this proposed trade, the Lakers would receive the Shooting Guard Kelddon Johnson, who had an average of 22 PPG which would greatly help the Lakers team.

D'Angelo Russell had a terrible performance in the WCF series vs. the Nuggets, which made the NBA media wonder why Pelinka re-signed the PG, A trade was an option, being the reason why this trade idea doesn't look bad.

Despite Russell’s struggles versus the Nuggets, though, the Lakers brought him back on a two-year, $37 million contract. However, Russell waived his implied no-trade clause, so Los Angeles can trade the guard anywhere.
