Since the Last Dance came out, a lot of players and teams decided to create their own docuseries, but this might be the wrong desicion.

The Last Dance was a huge success, not only for Michael Jordan, but for ESPN and the Bulls too. Now the Lakers have been part of two docuseries in the past year, and reports have com that both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony are going to create their own docuseries about their careers. Truth, both players have been very influential in the NBA, but maybe the fans are starting to get tired to seeing series that don't include all the truth.

As said above,  Michael Jordan's ‘Last Dance’ was very well received by the critics. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he is consider the Greatest Of All Time, or maybe because there still was a lot of mystery regarding his last year with the Bulls. Regardless, the NBA Legend reportedly made $3 million to $4 million for his participation in the Emmy-winning series. He has donated $2 million of earnings fto local food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago.

The Last Dance has a 9.1 out of 10 rating in IMDb, which puts it as one better rating series all time. Especially as a sport series. However the same thing can't be said about the two Lakers series that we have seen this year. HBO's ‘Winning time’ has not been that popular, especially by the players that it portrayed, so far it has a 8.3/10 rating on IMDb which isn't so bad but they have already dropped 486 places on their rankings.

‘Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers’ was the last docuseries we've seen so far this year. Some people believe this was created only to respond to HBO's series, and fans might agree, even though, Lakers front office announce this series would tell the truth about the organization. The series wont reach ‘Last Dance’ success as they only have an 8.3/10 rating. Also is worth noting, that people might not want series created by the own teams.

Reaction towards Legacy

Legacy was made to tell the real story of the Lakers after Jerry Buss bought it.  it has some interesting parts to it as it shows the team biggest success with the ‘Showtime’ team, but after all, and as Eric Deggans, from NPR, said, "But 'Legacy' ultimately proves too committed to the Buss family's portion of this sprawling story."
