According to NBA.com's Mark Medina, LeBron James won't be close to winning another championship.

LeBron James just signed a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. This means the best player in the team will stay for a couple more years. However, there are still many issues with the Purple and Gold going into the next season, and that's why a NBA insider believes that the 'King' will be far away from another championship.

The Lakers just signed Patrick Beverley after missing their chance on Kyrie Irving. Of course, the former Timberwolves player is not at the same level as Irving, but he will be a good role player. The Lakers still need to add a big-time name if they want to compete with the top team in the West.

Jeanie Buss explains why they re-sing LeBron James

“I always subscribe to that old adage that you never bet against LeBron James, but I think in this case, because he is entering his 20th season and because the Lakers have so many roster holes to address, I don’t think LeBron is gonna sniff another championship,” explained Mark Medina during a podcast episode of ‘The Old Couple’.

LeBron James won the championship in the 2020 season. But during the last two years, they have gone downwards, being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in the 2020-21 season and then missing the postseason altogether in the 2021-22 campaign. Right now, with their current roster are closer to missing the playoffs gain that winning another championship.

Can LeBron James win another championship?

LeBron James is going to play in his 20th season, at age 38, in the upcoming campaign. He is no longer the ‘Iron-man’ he once was, as he has averaged only 52 games played since joining the Lakers. If he can't be healthy, he can't help his team to get to the playoffs.
