It's about time we are close to seeing the NBA action back on the court, and the official schedule for the 2023-24 season has been revealed, but it's not without its share of controversy as many fans are claiming the league is 'rigged' in favor of LeBron James' LA Lakers.
Some fans, especially from the Spurs aren't content that with the arrival of the French phenom Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, the team isn't getting as many broadcast games on national TV as the Lakers (40) and Warriors (41).
The Spurs missed the playoffs for the past few seasons, but Wembanyama's addition skyrocketed them to 19 Nationally televised games.
This is a reality check from the NBA to Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs fans, this is his rookie year and the player still has to show he is for real and not just another overhyped prospect. LeBron James is one of the few players that has lived up to the hype that surrounded him. This just shows how LeBron keeps dominating the NBA and is still the most popular player in the league.
With information via The US Sun, some fans reacted online to the schedule showing they think the league is rigged. One said: "This is why the NBA rigged. How come the Sorry Lakers get 40 games televised pretty much every year, even though they suck.Tired of watching or speaking on an Irrelevant team. Charles Barkley was right." Another: "Lakers have ten games more than the champs. Management knows who's superior. Warriors 41 is too many, btw." A third: "The Spurs really got more than four playoff teams last year. Wow." And a fourth: "Everything we're seeing now really shows how much the NBA is rigged."
