The Los Angeles Lakers lost their final preseason game, but one player outside the starters was the standout, not Christian Wood

The Los Angeles Lakers lost against the Phoenix Suns and the 2nd unit for LA didn't look good at all, but with only the starters shining on the game, one player that stood out despite coming off the bench was Jaxson Hayes.

Christian Wood was the biggest signing in the offseason for LA, but now the 23-year-old Lakers who originally was signed to have role player role, Jaxson Hayes is getting the advantage over Christian Wood.

Wood had a forgettable night with 15 minutes of playtime, scoring 2 points having 6 rebounds and one block. Thursday night Hayes played 13 minutes with three rebounds, one steal, one block, and 7 scored points.

At the moment Christian is the center set to have more playing time, but after what Jaxson showed this preseason things could change soon enough. The good news is that the team has a deep roster and the young rookie center Colin Castleton has shown interesting assets for the team.

Coach Darvin Ham's conclusions with the season opener coming next

"I saw a lot of continuity... We can just play stress-free basketball. No one has to force anything." Darvin Ham likes what he sees heading into the regular season.
