The Lakers have been reported to be interested in a Chicago Bulls star, but they should go for another team's star

After the struggles the team has had this season regarding players injured and they haven't looked as good as everyone was expecting they would be doing after the offseason signings they have, reports have the team considering making a trade to change things up.

Most of the reports are focused on the Los Angeles Lakers wanting to trade for one or more of the Chicago Bulls Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and/or Alex Caruso, other reports have also the team interested in a Grizzlies reserve.

But there's a trade that could be possible that could finally make the Lakers become the contending team they are supposed to be this season and have a third star that would be a good fit for LeBron and AD.

A recent report has the Utah Jazz All-Star Lauri Markkanen to be an interesting name to have in mind if the team continues to trend downward, as there's a chance the organization could sell high on key veterans to prioritize the long-term future. Markkanen could become a free agent in 2025.

The reason why Lauri Markkanen makes sense for LA

Lauri shooting 42% from 3, he’s the archetype that LeBron turns into an NBA champion. He has 1 non-gtd year left on an 18M contract. The Lakers have young players, picks & salaries if Sir Lauri Markkanen wants to WIN and Jazz want to avoid maxing him out.
