The NBA has a rich history, and one of the greatest players of all time happened to play in the showtime era alongside Magic Johnson and James Worthy, the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Kareem was the NBA scoring leader for more than 40 years, which recently saw his record to be broken by the Lakers superstar LeBron James in the previous season.
Yesterday night, Kareem saw a tribute made by the Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler who made a sky hook just like the Lakers legend used to do in the past. Butler said, "I'm in a 3-point shooting slump right now so I gotta go to what I know, which is the sky hook."
While Butler didn't mention Kareem's name, it implies the shot was a tribute to the 70's big man who had in the sky hook his signature shot that almost no one has replicated, until now with the Heat star.
The Lakers are having their fourth and final stage group game for the In-Season Tournament tonight, they are currently with a 3-0 record and are looking to end in first place to advance to the next stage.
