After the great playoff performance Rui Hachimura had, and all the offseason work he has been putting on alongside assistant coach Phil Handy, the Japanese wing is set to have a breakout season.
The last campaign was a disaster from the get-go for the Lakers, as they started with a 2-10 record, and things only improved after the trade deadline.
Rui Hachimura was one of them, and while it didn't look as much of a change at the beginning, the Japanese wing was fast to show what he was capable of, and after the postseason, Rui got the attention of the fans.
This offseason the Lakers re-signed Hachimura for a 3 year 51 million deal, and coach Ham is said to have him ready for the starting role over players like Jarred Vanderbilt who was last season's starter, and the latest Lakers pickup Christian Wood.
Hachimura will be starting because AD will be playing as the center, but after Davis requested to get help at the five position, Christian Wood could be a starter and Rui could be going to the bench.
