Despite having a weak preseason, Christian Wood is getting on track to be a key player for the Lakers 2023-24 season

Since the moment the Los Angeles Lakers signed Christian Wood at the last stretch of the offseason, the big man said it was a dream come true for him to be a purple and gold player and be able to play in his homeland.

Wood has now gotten his first win with the Lakers for the season to have a 1-1 record and continue to develop chemistry together, things should go better for LA in games to come as everyone will be getting used to their role.

Christian had a standout performance on the defensive end when he guarded Kevin Durant in the last quarter to help the team win the contest after trailing for the first three quarters.

Immediately after the win,  Wood didn't hesitate to send everyone a message on how happy and hyped he was to be a Laker as he posted on X: "Got my first win as a Laker in Staples dream come true."

What could make Christian Wood go the extra mile with LA this year?

While the effort Wood is putting with the team is appreciated, if the Lakers center gets on the board more can get a lot of easy putbacks. Every time a shot goes up, Wood needs to look to rebound. Kuz used to do it in the 2020 championship title and it made a big difference. If Wood applies this, he will go the extra mile with the team.
