Christian Wood has been at the top of the Lakers' list for a couple of weeks now, but fans haven't seen any movement, and now the NBA insider Jovan Buha has shared some light about the big player.
With GM Rob Pelinka and head coach Darvin Ham looking to complete their roster for the next season by signing another center that helps fill the backup role for Anthony Davis, Wood has been the number one option.
But Buha has revealed that Christian Wood wants a bigger role with the Miami Heat instead, and not only that, but another team could offer a bigger deal to the center, as the Lakers only had offered 2.7M per year, the vet minimum.
Buha mentions the Chicago Bulls as a potential destination due to the $10.2 million Disabled Player Exception that they received for ailing point guard Lonzo Ball. “There's also Chicago kind of looming,” Buha says, as “they have that injury exception because of the Lonzo [Ball] situation… I think that would have likely already happened if they were going to sign him, but you never know…” The Lakers have some heavy competition regarding Christian in what is becoming a tiresome saga for the Lakers Nation.
The purple and gold fans are growing tired of the center talk, especially about Christian Wood and they want Pelinka and Ham to sign him or move on to the next option available.
