The Los Angeles Lakers Icon Shaquille O'Neal has agreed in the past with some of Kyrie Irving's beliefs, like the earth is flat, but this time he is completely opposed to what the Net's star did.
Both Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal are unhappy with the NBA's decision not to suspend Kyrie Irving, even when the Net stopped the star for five games without payment. And Irving has given a kind of apology to the public in general.
Last week, Irving promoted a venomously antisemitic book on Twitter, and since then, all kinds of drama have surrounded the controversy. Barkley said: "I think the NBA dropped the ball. I think he should have been suspended. I think Adam (Silver) should have suspended him. You can't take my $400 million and insult my religion. The NBA, they made a mistake."
In the case of Shaq, he said the following: "When you're as great at basketball as he is, people listen to you… It hurts me that we have to sit up here and talk about stuff that divides us. We must sit up here and answer for what this idiot has done. I stand for equality of all people."
Some side of the fandom thinks the internet and NBA world are overreacting and that the Brooklyn Nets franchise is harsh on the superstar. So the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka should use this opportunity and sign the star to help improve the team's roster.
