The Lakers GM Rob Pelinka pulled off some early moves at the start of the free agency market, and at the moment are only two available spots left ahead of the 2023-24 season.
A report by the NBA insider Jovan Buha, had the Lakers organization thinking of only using 14 spots to start the regular season and save the 15th for later, but they could use it before the start of training camp as they still need a shooter who can help with their 3-point shooter.
The 14th spot is currently reserved for a big center, once that is done, here are the top 5 shooters currently available in free agency that Pelinka and Ham could sign. After the Lakers sign their Extra Big, the Lakers could get used to adding a NonGTD Shooting Ace.
Said player will likely not even be in the rotation, but as a Break Glass In Case of Emergency Spacer (a la Matt Ryan), to save a dire situation. The top 5 best Free Agent Shooters Available: 1. Svi Mykhailiuk: 40% (1.9 3pm) 2. Terence Davis: 37% (1.4) 3. Rodney McGruder: 42% (1.3) 4. Terrence Ross: 37% (1.5) 5. Bryn Forbes: 41% (career %).
Some other options are some potential buy-out sharpshooters like David Bertans, Doug McDermott, Cedi Osman, and Devonta Graham. These players could help bring a solution when the team needs it.
