The Los Angeles Lakers were rumored to be pursuing signing Kyrie Irving to reunite him with LeBron James, but that changed after the Mavs took him at the trade deadline.
Since then, different rumors had the Lakers pursuing Irving since the purple and gold got swept by the Denver Nuggets, but in fact, Pelinka has stated several times they have no real intention of signing the vet PG.
Nevertheless, the rumors continued until a twist had Irving recruiting LeBron to play in Dallas. Still, it has been revealed that Kyrie will be listening to teams in the free agency market, and once again, the Lakers were rumored, but it seems that Irving has made his final decision on the matter.
Irving will be having a meeting tomorrow with the Phoenix Suns. If everything works out for both parties, Kyrie will be reunited with his Brooklyn next former teammate Kevin Durant to create a "Big 4" with him, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. Irving has chosen KD over LeBron James.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst said, "Rob Pelinka has taken out a billboard in LA that says we will not be a cap space team. We are resigning our players. There's no open market for Kyrie."
