For nine years, Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook have had problems with each other, however right now they are teammates.

The Los Angeles Lakers just traded two players to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Patrick Beverley. The 14-year-old veteran might not be the missing piece the Lakers needed, but he could be a really good starter. However, everyone is talking about the beef between Russell Westbrook and Beverley over the last nine years.

The fight between players started back in 2014. However, they got to a boiling point on November 13, 2019, when James Harden, Westbrook's teammate in Houston, dropped 47 points on the Clippers. According to Westbrook, Beverley was defending Harden, and so he said, “Pat Bev trick y’all, man, like he plays defense. He doesn’t guard anybody, man. It’s just running around, doing nothing.”

NBA analyst believes this is Russell Westbrook's future

Where will former Los Angeles Lakers player end up playing

Of course, the beef didn't end there. Wesbrook continued, “He don’t guard nobody, man. It’s just running around, doing nothing. … All that commotion to get 47.” Beverley later responded during a podcast appearance “He damaged my career,” he said. “Like, coaching staffs and players, fans, they looked at me way different.” and then a Twitter war started.

Beverley started to tweet after Westbrook's disastrous campaign with the Lakers, not holding back the grudge that he had for over three years. Despite the bad blood with Westbrook, Wojnarowski noted that Beverley is "eager to join the Lakers" and was "thrilled to learn of the impending deal." We just have to see if the Lakers make the two play together or if they end up trading Russell away.

Will Russell Westbrook play with the Lakers?

The Lakers have desperately tried to send Russell away since the start of the offseason. Now they have a player that has problems with Westbrook. It seems they are trying their best to make Russell leave for his won. Still, he is part of the roster heading into training camp.
