The Lakers legend and recently Hall of Fame nominee Pau Gasol has joined the thousands of athletes and persons that have reacted to the passing of the soccer's Brazilian legend Pelé.
Football soccer is the most popular sport on the planet, and for a long time, Pelé was considered the undisputed GOAT until Messi won the world cup earlier this month.
Still, Pelé won it three times, the only player that did it, and Gasol has just reacted to the death of the soccer's “King.”
Gasol was short but heartfelt with his message. He wrote: “RIP, Pelé.” Alongside photography of a smiling Pelé. Pau is a Lakers legend from Spain, a country heavily involved in soccer.
Pele was once paid 120K to tie his shoes during the 1970 FIFA world cup by Puma. This is how influential he was and ahead of his time, paving the land for future partnerships like MJ and LeBron with Nike.
