It seems that the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka wants to call it a lost season, as he continues to wait and is not doing anything to help the team. However, it has been evident in tonight's game that the team without AD doesn't work, even with LeBron trying to lead the team.
Kendrick Nunn and Patrick Beverley have been two of the worst players in all NBA, and being on game 30, they shouldn't be playing in Los Angeles anymore; something must be behind Pelinka's decision to keep them and Ham on using them.
Pelinka has on his hands the opportunity to build a better team and make it competitive by trading Kendrick Nunn and Pat Bev and getting players like Zach Levine and Bradley Beal, the return of Kyle Kuzma and DeMar DeRozan who have been rumored to be signed by the Lakers.
But it seems that Pelinka doesn't want to give up the two first-round picks and prefers to keep them, call it a lost season, wait to have Westbrook as a free agent, and then make the trades and rebuild the roster from scratch.
Since the beginning of the season, it was heavily criticized the plan to make Anthony Davis the focal point and not having depth and shooters on the team roster, as depending only on one superstar was more than risky, especially keeping in mind that it is known to be "fragile."
