The Lakers are still in need of a size player that can help them win a new NBA championship title, just like in 2020 when they use two big player

In recent days, the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has made it clear, first that the plan the team has for the next season is to play with two big players just like in the 2020 championship title when they got use of Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee.

This time they have in mind to do those roles the Lakers star Anthony Davis and the just signed Jaxson Hayes, still, the team needs a backup center, as the only one left on the roster is the two-way signed contract rookie Colin Castleton.

Because of that, Pelinka also stated they are "actively" looking to add another center to complete their roster for the next season, and while the names of Christian Wood and Bismack Biyombo have been the closes to the Lakers, Rob has just foolishly passed on perfect free-agent target that may be stolen by the Celtics.

According to NBA insider John Karalis, "Svi Michaliuk reportedly choosing between Celtics minimum deal and signing with Panathinaikos in Greece... either way it's a white and green uniform with a shamrock."

The Lakers could sign another young center

Usman Garuba is currently signed to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have 20 players on the roster. OKC is going to have to cut loose at least five players before the start of the 2023-24 season and Garuba is one of the main candidates to be let go. If this happens, Garuba fits the role Pelinka and Ham are looking for a player to sign, this could be the reason why the front office hasn't made a move yet.
