The Los Angeles Lakers, just like the rest of the NBA teams, have a busy day today as it will be held the 2023 NBA draft and there are two options the front office is deciding which route to take.
According to the latest report by NBA insider Jake Fisher, the Lakers could be deciding to go with the option that will get them more experience and aged a bit on the roster by making a trade before the draft instead o drafting a prospect.
According to Fisher, GM Rob Pelinka has three potential options, as the first conversations have the team trading a package of the No. 17 pick alongside Mo Bamba or Malik Beasley for experienced talents like Gary Trent Jr., Buddy Hield, or Dorian Finney-Smith.
The Lakers fans prefer Gary Trent Jr. out of those three options, even when Buddy Hield has been in the sight of the team for a long time. Still, tonight we'll see how things work out.
In breaking news by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, “The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring the 40th pick from the Indiana Pacers for No. 47 and cash, sources tell ESPN. The Lakers now own Nos. 17 and 40 on the draft board tonight. They moved up a board believed to have some real second-round value. The Pacers hold four picks tonight, including Nos. 7, 26, 47, and 55.”
