LA wanted to improve their current roster this offseason, and they did it, but there's an absence that can hurt them after he parted ways with the team

The last season the Lakers had a rocky start that made most of the NBA world think that they weren't even going to make it into the playoffs, especially after the 2-10 record they began with.

At the end of the regular season, the team got into the 7th seed and entered the Play-In Tournament, where they defeated the Timberwolves, and in the playoffs, they made it into the WCF.

One of the most constant players for the team was Lonnie Walker, who began the season surprising everyone as one of coach Ham's starters and delivered until the trade deadline movements happened.

Then, Ham had Malik Beasley as the team's SG starter, then lost his role to Austin Reaves, who then became the starter, and Walker became the third option, being more on the bench than the court until Darvin used him in Game 4 of the series vs. the Golden State Warriors where Lonnie scored 15 points in one quarter to help the team win the game, the series and made it into the WCF. Still, Pelinka let him go into free agency and didn't try to sign him back.

Lonnie Walker is now a Brooklyn Nets player

The SG Lonnie Walker should have used his time as a free agent, and as soon as he could, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets while the Lakers could have lost a valuable role player who proved his worth during the 2022-23 season in LA. This could be the GM Rob Pelinka's biggest mistake. We are sure Rob will regret it in the future.
