The Los Angeles Lakers continue to survive this season thanks to some players who have been able to step up in the absence of superstar Anthony Davis, who has been out for several weeks and is on his recovery path.

Also, missing Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walkers in the last few games have been a harsh reality coach Ham had to deal with, so players that didn't have that many playing minutes, like Wenyen Gabriel, Kendrick Nunn, and Damian Jones, had to prove their worth.

While Gabriel has proven that he is the most underrated but best pickup of the offseason that GM Rob Pelinka signed for the Lakers, as Wenyen helped the team to win the last game and continues to be better each game, others have wasted their potential and opportunity.

Damian Jones is becoming the worst "reinforcement" of the season for the Lakers, as he has been losing playing time, and by now, he is almost non-existent on Ham's game plans.

What Wenyen Gabriel is doing to become a key element on Ham's team

After his 11 points scored in 11 minutes of playtime this last Monday and scoring a total of 14 points in the game, Gabriel was interviewed post-game. "Just trying to get better every day. I'm learning every day, and the more I learn, the better I'll be out there." Said Gabriel about becoming better for himself and the team.
