There are a lot of reason to doubt but also to believe.

There are reasons to believe that the Lakers will be a disaster again this coming season. But there are also reasons to believe that the Los Angeles Lakers can be top 4 in the Western Conference and fight for the Western Conference title. It won't be easy at all but there is confidence that the Lakers will be among the best next season.

One of the reasons to believe this is the new head coach; Darvin Ham. Ham has mentioned that he wants to immediately improve the defense, one of the Lakers' weaknesses last season. In addition Darvin Ham will put a priority on good decision-making as last season the Lakers were the third team with the most turnovers. Also, it was revealed that the offense will be centered around Anthony Davis, which will give much more freedom to LeBron James.

The great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar tells us the whole truth about the history of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The big prospect that the Lakers would let go.

This last brings us to another reason to believe in these Lakers; Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Anthony Davis has been seen working out hard recently. The Lakers center has already managed to lose weight and also strengthen his ankles, which gave him a lot of trouble last season. As for LeBron James, there's not much to say. The King is still in exceptional shape and like a fine wine, the older the better. James is coming off averaging 30 points at age 37 and wants to finish his career with one or two more rings.

And last but not least, the roster has been boosted. With the arrival of key position players, the Lakers have a better roster than last season. A mix of youth and experience can be a positive factor for the Los Angeles Lakers. Among some of the players that will be added for this season are; Juan Toscano Anderson, former Laker Thomas Bryant, rookie Max Christie, Troy Brown, and Loonie Walker among others.

The possible added value

If we add the possible arrival of Kyrie Irving, the Lakers have enough to be one of the contenders to win the championship. It will undoubtedly be a very even season. With teams like the reigning champions the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers with the return of Kawhi Leonard and the arrival of John Wall, this season is shaping up to be crazy.
