The news has broken about the Phoenix Suns being close to landing one of the most coveted stars this offseason after the Washington Wizards announced their intentions to make a trade for their starting PG.
Bradley Beal is one of the highest-paid NBA players in the league, and while many believed he isn't worth that money, he still has a lot of potential to offer to a new team, and the Lakers know that, but it seems the Suns have the upper hand.
According to the most recent news by NBA insider Shams Charania: "Developing: Washington is in serious talks with two finalists – Miami and Phoenix – on a Bradley Beal trade, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The Suns have emerged as a serious threat for Beal, who holds a no-trade clause."
This is terrible news for Pelinka, who was trying to get Beal to make a new Big 3 for the Lakers to maximize LeBron James and Anthony Davis. And according to recent news by Wojnarowski, the team that signs Beal will be cheaper than expected. LA has lost an important player.
Another PG vet that could land the Lakers is Chris Paul, who has been announced that they could be traded or waived by the Suns. The Lakers organization has been reported to be interested in the 38-year-old guard.
