In the last few years, the Lakers haven't solved their shooting problem, but they let one of their best 3-point scorers walk away

One of the biggest issues the Los Angeles Lakers have been facing in the last few years has been shooting, as players have come and gone the problem remains, there's one that was consistent, yet, the Lakers let him walk away in the previous offseason.

Lonnie Walker player for the purple and Gold in the last season, was a starter and did a great job until an injury came along, then the trade deadline and coach Ham simply stopped giving him minutes.

When the Lakers coach finally allowed Walker, the SG delivered an outstanding night against the Golden State Warriors in the 4th game of the second round in the 2023 playoffs, still, coach Darvin and GM Rob Pelinka didn't make an effort to re-sign the guard.

This offseason the team bet on Taurean Prince who started with the right foot regarding 3-point shooting, but now is shooting his career-lowest while Lonnie went on to sign with the Brooklyn Nets and is having an outstanding campaign.

Lonnie Walker is the kind of role player that would have helped the group, but Ham let him walk away by not giving him enough playtime. Walker IV registers his league-leading fifth game of 20+ points off the bench. The 24-year-old is averaging 15.7 PPG on 64% TS in 21.7 MPG through 15 GP. Taurean Prince has been averaging 8.5 PPG, 1.5 APG with 27.7% from 3 and 39.8% FG.
