The Lakers star Anthony Davis recently signed a 3 year 186 million extension, greatness is expected of him

The time for Anthony Davis to prove the Lakers made the right call by extending him for 186 million is here, as is now or never for the star to carry the Lakers instead of keep relying on LeBron James.

Rob Pelinka and Coach Ham have been able to add depth to the team's roster, still, the purple and gold keep relying on what Anthony Davis can do with the team when healthy.

Many in the NBA media are tired of waiting for Anthony Davis to show up, as his inconsistency has affected the purple and gold on more than one occasion, now Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has made a statement on the reality of the team and AD.

“Sometimes, when sports and the games are close, you are like, man, we are close, but the Lakers aren’t. Now, it will be interesting about all the stuff they did; as I said last season, it will all come down to Anthony Davis. If Anthony Davis, as much as I love LeBron, I said last season and two seasons before. The Lakers are not going anywhere if Anthony Davis is not an MVP candidate. The Lakers were lucky to have a great draw in the playoffs, but AD does not have an MVP-caliber season; the Lakers are going nowhere.”

Anthony Davis needs to take out the load from LeBron James

LeBron James remains a top 10 player in the NBA but being 38 years old he can no longer carry an entire team by himself, That's the job Anthony Davis has been signed to have, especially after signing a 186 million for three years extension.
