In the 2023 offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers decided to sign Taurean Prince as one of their biggest solutions for their 3-point problem, but early on the campaign had some struggles, now has been able to bounce back and be consistent in the last ten games.
When asked what has helped him find a rhythm and get his jumper back on track, Prince credited teammates for encouraging him, as well as his standards.
“Just being available for those guys that we run the offense through, I think that’s the main thing,” Prince said. “Trying to stay consistent as someone that they can rely on. Then holding myself to the standards that I hold myself to."
Playing off LeBron James and Anthony Davis will always allow for some open shots, and having players of that caliber constantly in your ear telling you to shoot has to inspire confidence. It’s now paying off for Prince after a rough stretch in which he shot just 29.3 percent from deep in November. “I’m feeling good,” Prince added. “I got a great team around me, we all do individually as far as the people they put in place to help us recover and get ready to play the games. But my legs feel fine."
