The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to build from their last season's roster, as the team was able to make it to the Western Conference Finals, and a great opportunity window opened the moment the Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green declined his 27 million player option with his current team and became a free agent.
Following that move, Green was seen alongside the Lakers star LeBron James in France the next day. Both players have been together during the vacation with their families.
After being seen together, the fans started speculating that Green was a feasible choice for the Lakers to pursue this offseason; the problem is, Draymond's intentions are far from what the purple and gold are willing to pay for the star.
According to the star's recent post on his IG account, he may have opted out of receiving a long-term deal north of the $100 million mark. If that is his expectation, Pelinka and Ham will not pursue the player, and LeBron could understand it.
After the NBA Draft 2023, the LA Lakers have made it clear with their picks that they are looking to their future and are starting to build with young promises, just like they had done with Austin Reaves, Max Christie, Scotty Pippen Jr., Cole Swider and more.
