The Los Angeles Lakers have been looking to improve their roster for the next season, even when they were happy with the team as it is now, but with failing in the WCF against the Nuggets, some adjustments are needed.
One former Laker is trying to make a comeback to the team, as he has openly said he loved his time in LA with the squad, especially after becoming a champion in the NBA alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Kyle Kuzma declined his 13 million option from the Washington Wizards and now is a free agent, so many teams are expected to make an offer for him, including the Lakers.
But even when Kuzma wants to return, he is also looking for a deal that can guarantee him around 30 million per year, something the Lakers front office led by GM Rob Pelinka and Darvin Ham aren't willing to pay, as they have many players to re-sign and are looking to other names to keep their depth.
Yesterday, the NBA Draft 2023 was held, and the Lakers made their two picks valid. Also, they signed some undrafted players; the team is looking to the younger side of things and into the future, reducing the chances of Kuzma having a second stint with the team.
