The Los Angeles Lakers have made an announcement that has excited the fans for the future to come for the team

The Los Angeles Lakers are seeking to win their 18th NBA championship title in the franchise history; in the season that just ended, they were able to make it into the WCF, but there, they got swept against a team that has been developing chemistry and culture for about five years, while the purple and gold did it since the trade deadline, LA got swept.

The good news is that the team has a strong core that GM Rob Pelinka and coach Darvin Ham want to keep and are looking to improve with some players in free agency. Still, their biggest bet is their young core, the upcoming rookies, and because of that, the Summer League is a must-follow by the Lakers fans that want to see what the new young promises are capable of.

Today, the Lakers have officially announced their 2023 summer league roster, and it is making the fandom excited, something they haven't been that much since 2017, when players like Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Thomas Bryant, Alex Caruso, and more made an impact and won it.

The Lakers roster for this summer league is: No. 29 Damion Baugh, G, with No. 26 the center Colin Castleton, No. 10 guard Max Christie, No. 30. L.J. Figueroa F, No. 27 the Forward Alex Fudge, No. 36 Bryce Hamilton, Guard, No. 55 the G D'Moi Hodge, No. 11 the G Jalen Hood-Schifino, No. 31 Sacha Killeya-Jones C, No. 21 Maxwell Lewis F, No. 14 G Scotty Pippen Jr., and No. 20 F Cole Swider.

The players the fans are most excited about ahead of the Summer League

The Lakers are most excited to see the new team's drafted rookies, the guard Jalen Hood-Schifino and the forward Maxwell Lewis. Still, they are also really interested in the undrafted players the team picked with a two-way contract, the center Colin Castleton and guard D'Moi Hodge. All of them, along with the returning last year's rookies Colin Swider, Max Christie, and Scotty Pippen Jr., could earn a spot in the LA Lakers or return to the South Bay as he is no longer in a two-way contract, unlike Swider
