This Wednesday night, the Lakers had a must-win game against Phoenix and thanks to great performances by Anthony Davis and guards D'Angelo Russell, and Austin Reaves was possible.
Now the purple and gold are tied with the same score as the 9th seed, the Dallas Mavericks, as both teams are 36-37, following up close the OKC that has a .500 mark with a 36-36 record.
After being in the 11th seed, the Lakers returned to the 10th spot thanks to the victory over Phoenix and could soon climb more spots if this Friday defeats OKC.
Defeating the Thunder will give them a 36-37 record, while the Lakers would be reaching the .500 mark for the first time this season and could climb to the 8th spot.
Austin Reaves says his mindset didn't change after entering the starting lineup: "Win. At all costs, win. That's all that matters."
