The NBA media has been selling the narrative that Anthony Davis is a fragile player and because of that he isn't an MVP-caliber player or that wasn't the DPY last season when he clearly was the best defender of the league.

But the reality is that AD's work ethic and hard work have convinced the Lakers he is reliable and worth paying the 186 million they offered him to extend his contract three more years.

Some may feel such an extension is risky because of how injury-prone Davis is. But Rich Paul, Anthony's agent, explained why the superstar’s extension makes sense.

“They understand AD and his work ethic has shown,” Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul said. “He has some injuries, but it wasn’t due to him not working. It’s not like he came into camp overweight or showed any laziness. There were just fluke things. That happens in the game.”

Other NBA great players have missed more games than AD

Anthony Davis has a bad rep for missing games, but he has more games played since 2019 than Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and more.
