It speaks volumes of how the Los Angeles Lakers have been handling their offseason when talking about building their team's roster for the 2022-2023 season, and the most recent player that the LA front office shows interest in signing confuses the fans.
The Athletics Shams Charania has recently reported that his sources told him the Lakers plan to sign Matt Ryan on a non-guaranteed deal. But the Lakers fans don't even know who they are talking about as they thought that Matt Ryan was an NFL player.
The jokes about the matter and confusion didn't wait, as the Lakers fandom, at first, were genuinely thinking of the Lakers being so desperate that now they were seeking to get an NFL player.
Jokes aside, Los Angeles Lakers wanted to bring an essential name to their roster this offseason and trade Russell Westbrook; they have been failing at that and now are signing players that have their fans scratching their heads over the situation.
This Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers are holding their Media Day; with it, many questions will be seeking answers. Most of them will be focused on the Russell Westbrook situation. The rest will be about the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka's inability to make a 'blockbuster trade' and build a contending roster for the season and failing to do so.
