A lot of hype was created during the offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers, once the season started and the team suffered a defeat against the Denver Nuggets, the current NBA reigning champions, the hype started to meet the team's reality.
The Lakers are a work in progress, but coach Darvin Ham is not what the team needs, as his current mistakes have had high costs, like the loss to the Sacramento Kings where his terrible lineups, using players in other roles than they don't know and bad team rotation gave the Kings the edge to win in overtime.
This time around it was a combination of the coach not knowing what to do to correct what was happening on the court, and the players that underperformed and it didn't look like they wanted the win, now Coach Ham has spoken on how his team didn't respond on the floor and there was nothing he could do.
"You can't scheme rebounding. You gotta wanna go get the damn ball. ... There's not a play I can draw up to get more rebounds." Said coach Ham, hinting the ones to be blamed were the players who didn't want to get more rebounds and stop the Pacers.
"One thing D-Lo don't lack is confidence. ... A lot of people will go back and trash him for the game he had, but that all it is, nobody's worried about him." Said Austin Reaves on D'Lo's terrible performance
