The Los Angeles Lakers are in the 9th seed after the game results they needed happened yesterday, even when they looked improbable at first sight.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, a team tied record-wise with the Lakers, lost their game against the Hornets and now have one more loss than LA.
In the case of the game between the Golden State Warriors and the New Orlean Pelicans, both losses would've helped the Lakers, but in this case, with the Pelicans having a more challenging game schedule, this benefits the team as they lose vs. the GSW.
Tonight it will be the turn for the purple and gold not to waste the opportunity and get the win in their rematch against the Chicago Bulls after the loss they suffered at home this past Sunday.
Even with a potential win from the Lakers, the team will tie the current New Orleans record but can move to the 8th seed as they have the tiebreaker in their favor.
